PJB Systems have won recognition, through the Atmel Consultant Program, working with Invenys to develop a gas metering communications interface. Invensys Metering Systems is an industry leader in design, manufacturer and supply of metering solutions to gas, water and electricity utilities.

Product | Gas meter – hardware and software design

PJB Systems were responsible for both electronics hardware and firmware, in the design and implementation of a new communications interface using an Atmel AVR micro controller. This provided the feature of low cost, 1K of SRAM and 16K bytes of FLASH memory, 512 bytes of EEPROM and extremely low power making the Mega 16L an ideal choice.

Product | SonixPalm - gas meter data acquisition system

PJB Systems were commissioned by Invensys Metering Systems to develop a Palm OS based application to acquire data from, monitor and configure their range of domestic, commercial and industrial ultrasonic gas meters.

The software enables users to perform different functions depending on their access rights. Gas meter diagnostic features were included to allow gas meter performance and gas system pipe work integrity to be monitored.

Additionally, management software designed for operating on a PC was developed, allowing customization of SonixPalm’s setting for each type of user. SonixPalm has the capability to upload data logged by the gas meter and download configuration information to the gas meter.
